All you have to do is answer this question:

Why do you think you need 32GB ram?

a) I am 100% certain of my current ram usage, software requirements, and usage patterns, and I am absolutely sure they require me to choose the 32GB option

b) I am pretty sure I need 32gb but I cannot say why with 100% certainty

c) I'm not sure if I need 32GB but I want to play safe and/or futureproof my mac

d) I am pretty sure I do not need 32GB

If you answered a):

Take the 32GB upgrade

If you answered b), c), or d):

Stop kidding yourself and stick with 16GB

You're welcome

Lol, good point. You don't even need to answer the question. Those who need 32GB wouldn't ask the question in the first place, they already know. So the answer to that question is always no. :)

Same with the other upgrades honestly:

* Do I need the i7/i9 upgrade? No.

* Do I need the 560X upgrade? No.

* Do I need a 4TB SSD? No.

;-)

Someone very rightly said they always bring popcorn to MacRumors.

You are right, those who need it, know it. End of story. Those who are in doubt, they obviously do not need it, but may or may not benefit from the upgrade.
