I installed fan control 1.2 but strangely it doesn't show up in the applicatins folder or when I search for it in spotlight.

How do I delete it? I want to install smc Fan Control instead.

Its not in the temp folder and I cant find it in spotlight!
I found it in system preferences in the other section and I right clicked on it then went to remove fan control preferences pane

It's really weird... when I set the RPM in smcFanControl to higher (5700) it goes up then it comes back down like something is stopping it... which is why I think it's still there!

I just installed it again and its in system preferences but theres no way to delete it! help!

That didn't work either... I did a search on Google and found the developers site.

The only way it can be deleted is by doing this:
Please follow these instructions to uninstall FanControl permanently:

1. Remove the following files and folders (both on your start disk):

/Library/StartupItems/FanControlDaemon
/Library/PreferencePanes/Fan Control.prefPane

(You will be prompted for the Administrator's password when deleting these items.)
2. Reboot
3. Reset the System Management Controller (SMC). Please follow these links for instructions: Portables, Mac Mini, Mac Pro

You have to find the .prefpane file and delete that. It should be in ~/library/preferencepanes
