How to delete from ITunes?

Hi All,
When I go into iTunes and uncheck a app it does take it off my phone but the app remains in my iTunes. I have tried to drag it into the trash but that doesn't work. So I guess my question is.......when I hook up my iPhone into the pc and go into iTunes how do I permanently delete/remove a app iTunes?

Press delete when the app is highlighted and it should ask you if you want to remove it permanently.

if the above doesn;t work, you can go into the folder that they are stored and delete the ipa from there. should be:

~/Music/iTunes/iTunes\ Media/Mobile\ Applications/
