I'm new to mac. I bought a macbook from a pervious owner after my pc crashed. I would like to use the mac os x mail that is installed. It is still set-up for the previous owner with their user name, pass, etc. I do not have the password. How do I delete the old account, create my own and set-up mail? Mostly I want to delete the old account. I think I can manage the rest.

If you have the grey Restore DVD or the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD, you could perform a Clean Install (or Erase and Install), as you will need the admin password once a day or so.
