When signing up for iCloud on my iPhone using iOS 5.0, I accidently mistyped my email address (eg., Jeff@me.com is Jeffbb@me.com). I can't seem to delete it and restart.

Does anyone know how I can rid the faulty email address from my iCloud setting?

Am I right in thinking that is now linked with you Apple ID. iCloud > Settings > Advance?

If you go to Apple self serve area that email address will be associated with your account... try and delete it and see what happens?

Nada - seems to be stuck to my primary Apple ID now as well.

Hmrph.

When making your account it clearly stated that you cannot change it after you create it. You'll need to make a new AppleID.

Yep, I recall that it said you cannot change it as well. I actually had to call Apple with an issue I had regarding my me.com address and was told the same thing again... you cannot delete it, which doesn't make any sense at all.

OP, When you log into iCloud.com you can create "aliases". I didn't pay much attention to what it is exactly, but maybe you can create an alias for that me.com address with the right spelling and use it that way. Don't know if that fixes your problem or not.

The alias will work and he'll just have both then.

I created a test account using the betas, and am now stuck with it.

If I create an alias, how is that handled on the iOS devices? I see now way of specifying the email address to use.
