Hi forum,

How is it possible to delete photos - many photos in one action - from an iPhone (iOS 12) from within Photos (3.0) on a Mac (macOS Sierra) but still keep them on the Mac?

I don't find this possibility in Photos on my Mac. It would be hard to believe that bulk deleting of photos from an iPhone can only be done on that iPhone directly.

Thanks.

First, before you do any of this, make sure you're not using iCloud Photo Library. If you are, chaos and destruction will result.

Now, you're not using iCloud Photo Library and want to lay waste to all the photos on your iPhone. The fastest way to bulk-delete photos from an iPhone is with the Image Capture utility. Connect your phone, open Image Capture, click any photo, cmd-A, delete.

Just make sure you have saved a copy of the photos already, obviously. :)
