I noticed that after I read and delete email from my MBA, they don't automatically delete from my iPhone. But if I just read them on my MBA, they show read (without that blue dot indicating/appearing) besides new emails.

Anyway, I'm trying to avoid opening these spam emails that I've already deleted from my MBA, but on the iPhone, I can't just delete them. I have to open them before deleting them.

Therefore, is iOS vulnerable to potential viruses if I open these emails to delete them off my iPhone?

If you delete them from you MBA and have your phone synced with mail then when your phone updates in mail they shouldn't be there. The opposite is what I would like some info on also. I never open them on my phone and delete them in Yahoo later.

Swipe left on the email to delete? Select the email or multiple emails and hit delete?

You can absolutely delete emails without opening them.

And no, no viruses on iOS.

What about in mail on MBP? No swiping there I believe.

If you are concerned about spam you need to turn off preview and automatic image loading.

I'm not sure about yahoo but if you use gmail via IMAP your devices will sync messages.
