just bought a used 2nd mac. I want to delete previous searches from the previous owner for good; just in case he was looking up shady sites. This computer will be used at work and by the family and I want to make sure I dont get blamed for 'naughty' websites. how do you delete them for good?

How to delete stuff from Safari?

Didn't reinstall fresh OS on the system? If you have the disks, why don't you just do a fresh install of the OS...
How about doing a Spotlight search for "safari history"
Delete all the history items
Woof, Woof - Dawg
Delete all the history items
Woof, Woof - Dawg
You can reset Safari
And you can empty the cache
But if you do a Spotlight search... you will still find history items
