how to delete tv shows so they don't download

I have tried and tried to PERMANATELY delete some free TV shows from itunes I wanted to download. everytime I open itunes they come up to download. Please help.....thanks!

Because some of those tv shows can be quite large. I had to suck it up and do this for all 9 HD episodes of a season I chose to download ONLY on SD. for some reason it decided to download HD as well and I had to wait and download all 9, 1.4 gig episodes.

If I didn't have the bandwidth or the space I would have had a bit of a problem.

Yep, if you purchase HD TV shows via iTunes it will download both the HD and SD versions.

As a point of interest, if you purchase movies and TV shows via Apple TV, iTunes does not download them. They remain available in the cloud for viewing and downloading per item.
