How to delete wmv movies

Hi,
I'm new to all this so be patient.
When I click on trash and then under search for I can click on all movies.
There are some WMV movies I would like to delete. How do I do this?
Hope this makes sense.

Drag anything you want to delete to the Trash icon on your Dock. Or you can right-click on the item and select "Move to Trash". To empty your Trash, right-click on the Trash icon on the Dock and select "Empty Trash".
