How to design informative Wallpaper?

Lately I have been seeing some really neat,
elaborate desktop wallpaper that includes the
date and time in large fonts as well as weather
information that might, for instance, include a
picture of the sun with the temperature and
forecast beneath it.

This isn't something put together by Yahoo
Widgets. My guess is GEEKTOOL, though I
have tried to use the program to create
elaborate informative wallpapers and have
gotten nowhere.

So, you have an idea of what I am after.

....and I suppose what I am really asking here is
for some extensive help. If this is all GEEKTOOL,
I was hoping there was some sort of tutorual on
how to put this kind of stuff together as far as
grabbing the day, date, weather and any other
kind of system information I can throw up there.

Looks like it's going to take a few
hours to learn how to do this, but then
again it looks like a lot of this is cut and
paste into the geektool shell.
