How to detect programmatically flash settings for iphone

Hi

I am making an application which invokes camera API . Now I am in a dilemma as I have a new requirement for programming the flash settings. As I also have to support my app for iPhone 3G and GS apart from iPhone 4 , I want to detect programmatically if the device is iPhone 4 or 3G/3GS coz if its 3G/3GS then it wont support flash.

Is this possible
