How to disable app store update notification where it shows the number of updates available and can it be done selectively for some apps? Sometimes it is annoying to have that number when you don't want to update particular app, because for some some free apps, an update includes more glaring ads and unrequired stuff and you want to keep the same version that you already have but also don't want to have that number of updates displayed on app store app all the time.

then what juice? I hate them also. I found a way the other day to do the one for the update in settings but sold that phone and now I cant find that solution!

Yes, its a pain seeing those badges and not updating them. It drives people crazy
Because sometimes an update for free apps includes nothing more than advertisements without adding any new functionality, so in that case you want to stick with the previous version.

Which is what is happening with my iPhone5 in that the badge is notifying me of updates but then shows an empty App Store update folder. Grr.....

I agree. Enough with the frequent update notices. I have received a couple of so-called updates that were quickly followed by bug fixes. This seems to have gotten out of control during the iPhone 5 kick off.
