When my iMac goes to sleep....then asks for a password before turning on how can I disable this need to put in a pass word each time it recovers from sleep mode?

In System Preferences->Security & Privacy -> General disable the Require password option. Note that you might have to click the lock in the lower left corner to be able to make changes.

Bear thank you for this simple answer to someone just learning to use the iMac after being away for 5 years. Just got a new one to enjoy learning. I still use my MS system, but since Win 8 their entire workings makes me want to move into Apple again and get good at it. The touch screen is not my thing on a computer screen...hope Apple stays away from that type of screen involvement.
