As we are still forced to wear masks in public indoor spaces here in Canada, I've really liked the unlock phone via Apple watch, so i don't have to type in the passcode every time...

However, what has bothered me is the click sound the watch makes with the notification that it has unlocked the iPhone.

People often look in my direction in quiet enough settings and one person accused me of taking a picture, because the sound is somewhat close enough to a camera shutter sound. I had to explain to the lady that its not a picture, and demonstrated it vs a picture being taken. She apologized and agreed that it's a rather silly "feature".

I've tried to look everywhere in the phone or watch settings, I cannot find a way to turn it off.

Has anyone found a way to turn this annoying notification click off? I'm fine with the haptic buzz, just not the loud click noise.

turn the volume down?
my phone is on silent and I have the watch to match iPhone notifications, so other than haptic feedback I don't get anything

I think the click sound comes from the haptic buzz. I personally think the buzz can be made softer. The first time this feature activated I thought my hand was about to fall off.

No, the haptic vibration is separate from the click sound.
