Hello there!
Im suffering from a dead battery in my mac for a couple of years now and, due to personal reasons, i wasnt able to get that replaced.
its probably a known issue for you that the laptop runs very slow without its battery supporting the system, but i got used to it over the time. until now..
i read through a few posts and work arounds, but im not quiet sure how they work. i have the feeling im missing out something when i read through them. is there anyone willing to help me doing this step by step so i can finally use my mb pro with a higher performance again, please?

my specs are:

MB Pro 13'' late 2013 retina
macOS Mojave version 10.14.5
2,6 Ghz Interl Core i5
8GB 1600Mhz DDR3

If we could get this puppy back to run smooth id be happy to donate some cash to you or an organization of your choise!

anyone fancy helping me please? i'd love to have this working. cant afford a new battery, so disabling speedstep etc is the only way of getting this done. could use a little step by step help from someone more experienced than i am...

There isn’t a safe way, unfortunately (there used to be a utility called CoolBook which was for the Core Duo / Core 2 Duo machines - won’t work on a Core ix processor).

There are instructions here, but I wouldn’t risk it - could easily kill the CPU. https://apple.stackexchange.com/que...ot-battery-possible-to-prevent-cpu-throttling

You don’t have to go to Apple to fix it - and I don’t believe they stock parts for Legacy machines either. Try this kit:
