Older versions of OSX would show a software update notification, in the top right of the screen, that could be dismissed by clicking and dragging it off screen. Now, I cannot dismiss update notices, and they always launch the AppStore.

Sorry, Apple, but I'm trying to work. I don't need to be interrupted so I can download an update for PopClip. This kind of OS bullying is unacceptable and unprofessional. Why is my deep concentration constantly interrupted by a forced march to Apple's storefront?

Is there a way to remove this behavior or give me some options to dismiss these painful notices?
