how to display to-do list on iCal?

it's wierd, why I couldn't display to-do list on iCal on each specific day, not just in the list on the side of calandar?
does any one know how to solve it?

You can't. That's just how the to do list and ical work.

I too wish the To Do list was had more features but that's it, a column on the right side
