If it doesn't move or click, and feels solid, it's the 2015 model. I think you mean MacBook and not ThinkPad The new force touch trackpad doesn't have any movement when the power is off, and when the Mac is on, it simulates movements by the force touch motor. If you press and feel a click, its an older model.
