How to DIY build a 5" iPhone

For all you clever people out there.

How easy/hard would it be to build a custom iPhone with a 5" screen?

Basically using the guts of an iPhone, transpondsterising it to a different manufacturers case/screen and getting it to work?

Just a general musing. I won't actually be trying this myself!

I would say extremely hard since you don't have access to the firmware, you cannot buy the chipset (apple doesn't sell their CPUs and GPUs). The phone is locked down to a point where imo its nearly impossible.

you would need a lot of peripherals and connectors as the guts only allowed for so much do to the screen size now
