RS-422 is only for deck control. It does not carry any video/audio information.

Why are you using the ioHD to capture DV/DVCAM? Just use firewire.

Hello, bigbossbmb. Thanks for posting!

I'm using the I/O HD to carry the video and audio informations. But, the I/O HD it's not controling the DSR 40 by RS 422 cable.

I need capture DV/DVCAM tapes on uncompressed 8 bits mode.

Thanks again!

Hi, Lethal!

I's using (in FCP's easy setup) Apple ProRes 422, and my deck is on remote mode!

Thanks!

Can you see the audio and video in FCP but you just can't get deck control? Also, make sure the deck is set to "9-pin" (typically this is want RS-422 is called) and not "iLink" (aka Firewire) for remote. I'm not familiar w/the DSR-40, but some decks you have to specific which remote I/O to use.
