I am getting the new baseline 13" MacBook Air for university, and I would prefer to have hard drive space over most of the iLife programs such as iMovie, Garageband, etc.

I remember when the software was on a disc that came with Macs you could just pop it in do a reinstall and then choose what you don't want to install.

How does one go about doing this with a MacBook Air?
