Hi,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to do a full reinstall of the latest beta without having to fully wipe the device in the process? just installing it over the top. If so how?

It appears that I have some bugs that should not be there.

Even though there’s not anything you can do that isn’t at least a small PITA, you could try resetting all settings to remedy it. That is a common step for many people. From there, you’ll just have to reconfigure. No data loss or install processes to worry about.

Thanks for reply, I’m having issues with screen record functions, recording gameplay it only shows the first frame and last frame captured on playback. It’s been an issue since beta 4 for me. Not sure if re setting setting will do it, but I might give it a try.

I’m on public beta, maybe I could install dev beta over the top?

Definitely worth a shot, it’s definitely inconvenient but less of a nuclear change of redownloading an OS.

Not sure how that would work though, with the dev option. If you have both developer (paid) and public accounts, you could download the Beta 9 ipsw. However, since build numbers are the same, it wouldn’t be an overlay. You’d likely be performing a fresh install from the developer ipsw. This would be setting the device up as new (wiping content).

Again, try the less drastic option first. Then I would escalate as needed.

Tried setting reset didn’t fix it. Then Did reinastall using developer ipsw file and still not working. Considering to now go back to iOS 10 and then back to iOS 11.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Ok so I have now gone back to iOS 10.3.3 and back again to iOS 11 beta....screen record still not working.

You can’t reinstall over top, but iCloud Backup > Reset All Content & Settings > iCloud Restore is essentially that… I have done it before. ‍♂️
