I installed ios7 on a pretty old iPhone (2009 I think). The phone is now slow with awful battery life. Does anyone know how to downgrade? Many thanks in advance.

As everyone on the last 500 threads have said, you can't downgrade your iphone. Search the internet next time.
2009 would be an iPhone3GS. if Whitd00r was used to get iOS7 firmware installed, then yes- a DFU restore with iTunes will bring back 6.1.6
Perhaps you should search the internet next time.
It's possibly if you have jailbroken your phone before, and I've done it on 2 different phones.

You need to save your blobs to do that, and most people don't even know that they can do that. I was assuming that on a thread where the OP did no research whatsoever before upgrading their device, the OP probably didn't save their blobs.
