Before I ask my question I must state that I know very little about computers.
Is there a way to download videos from Youtube that would be fairly simple?
Thanks in advance....

sir, you can download " downloader" software from the internet .with the help of this software you can download multiple videos.

1. In Safari, open the Activity window and find the largest file that's downloading.

2. Click on it once to highlight it, then choose copy.

3. Open your Downloads window of Safari and paste it.

This works great! The only problem is that I've been using Firefox as of late. Does anyone know how to do something like this in Firefox? I can't find an equivalent to "Activity" in Firefox.

For firefox, download download helper and install this add on into firefox. when your on you tube you will notice yellow, blue, and red balls spinning next to the home button. click this and click the top item on the drop down menu that appears. this will download a flash video.

Now to play these videos you will need a free program called videora converter. this will convert the videos into mp4 that you can play.

to download videora: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

to download download helper: http://www.downloadhelper.net/

hope this helps

If you use Firefox, there is a plugin called DownloadHelper. As soon as it see's a video, it will light up, allowing you to click on it and download the video as an flv.

TubeTv & TRYING to download from youtube

Hi I have done everything to try and download videos off youtube to save onto my laptop, without being online (using the flv seems to only work when your online which in my case defeats the point of downloading it), I was once able to access keepvid which was the perfect facility for carrying out this task, but am unable access that page any longer (has this been shut down by any chance? or do some wifi areas not allow access?), so then I went and downloaded both TubeTv and Perian, and now everytime I have downloaded the various videos onto my desktop and try open them up, it says "error" everytime!

I am completely at a loss as to how to fix this, I am not exactly computor literate but am trying my best.

Would appreciate any insight knowledge, using the most basic techniques if possible, the easier the better for me.

Thanks!!!

1. In Safari, open the Activity window and find the largest file that's downloading.

2. Click on it once to highlight it, then choose copy.

3. Open your Downloads window of Safari and paste it.

You can do that in one step less:

1. Step 1 as above

2. Hold down option/alt as you double click on that file.

Under Firefox I use Karbon. Flawless piece of software, downloads any video from any site I point it at. You just start the video playing and it appears in a window, click the one you want (keeps a log of all videos watched, like Safari's Download window) and vavavoom.
