How to edit already saved Automator application, service, and workflow?

Old thread, but had a quick question.

I was creating some workflows (not apps or services) to handle some mundane tasks. Automator defaults to saving them in the "Utilities" folder in the Applications folder. Is this really the best place? Does it matter?

I had to adjust the folder preferences to allow Admin Read & Write privileges.

It's a bit of an odd place to save them, but in my opinion it shouldn't really matter.
