How to edit multiple folders?

Alright, this may be a difficult one to explain, and a little bit OCD.

First, I have only been using a Mac for about a month now.
Second, I have a huge collection of music on an external HD. I'd like to organize my library.

It has been a few years since I have tackled this and now thousands of songs later, I need to reorganize my library.

I have been trying to find a software other than iTunes to help with the Album Artwork and editing information but I can't seem to find a good product for the Mac.

Without going into too much detail, is there a way to do a "Find/Replace" in regards to editing folders? I would like to Find "-" and replace with "/". I have tons of folders with a date as the name and there are a lot that need changed. Can this be done? Thanks!!!

Oh wow!! Thank you for this. I am trying to learn all of this new Mac language so I guess I now need to figure out about scripts.
