I really appreciate any pointers or help

I just got a PowerBook Ti G4 (800Mhz, 512MB, 40GB) with an USB Wireless adapter (D-Link DWL-122) which works very well but sometimes when I disconnect it from USB port system crashes. There is no eject or off option in the software/driver 1.4.7

Is there any way I can eject the adapter without causing the system crash?

May be there is a commend that I can enter into the terminal and eject it or something like that ...

Thanks in advance for your help
