I am trying to embed some YouTube videos in a website, and they seem to work on Chrome and Safari (on both mac and PC, didn't test FireFox) but they do not work in IE 8. I was using the default code that YouTube generates for you.

I heard that IE 8 has some issues with YouTube embedding from googling around but I haven't found any solutions that work.

Can anyone help me get those YouTube videos going in all browsers?

Also, if someone could help me get them working on the iPad too (I know YouTube can do HTML5) I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: Fixed the problem for IE 8. Now I would still like a solution for the iPad if possible.

You have to sign into your Google account on the iPad and opt in for the YouTube HTML5 beta. Then embedded YouTube videos will show on the iPad if the video is available in HTML5 format.

Look up swfobject.js. With that you can specific alternative HTML for flashless browsers. Like a video src="" tag
