I have a 2016 MBP that I recently bought a 4k LG screen for. Right now, when I go into my screen preferences and option + click the "Scaled" option, I'm given a number of options, with the two highest resolutions being 3840x2160 and 2560x1440. When set in 4k, the monitor looks great, but the text is just a bit too small for my preference. When I set it in the 2560x1440, the text is a bit large for my taste, and quite fuzzy. Is there any way to enable a resolution in between these two? Is there any way I can at least get the image when set to 2560x1440 to look a bit better?

Apple has hidden most of the options. You can hold down the option key while changing between Default and Scaled to see more options in System Prefs/Displays.

Or, you can use a third-party tool to see everything, including non-default/supported resolutions. The free version of Display Menu is very helpful.
