Is there a way to enable native tethering on 3.1.3 (Spirit JB) on a 3GS without having to buy MyWi?

I don't need the wifi sharing so MyWi seems overkill for my needs.

Yes, there is a way to enable native tethering. You can ask your carrier for an update because they are the one who is blocking it. I have my native tethering and I know Canada telecom let their users to have tethering too.

Okay smartass.

Does MyWi have a trial period? I know MyWi installs whatever is necessary for native tethering, so if you could install it for a trial period, then get rid of it.

You will need to patch CommCenter. I enabled it on 3.1.2 on 3GS, but the page said you can do it on 3.1.3 (3GS) as well. Please, search macrumors (spirit) thread to find post with the http link to the web site with CommCenter patch instructions.
