Hello,
I have a folder which is 1.4 GB that I would like to encrypt with a password (also in a way that the subfolders would not be seen unless I unlock it). I know there is a way to create an image and encrypt it with a password but I need to access that folder often.

If this option doesn't exist in High Sierra, could you please recommend a 3rd party program that would do the trick?

I tried Hider 2 but in that case, the encrypted file/folder is hidden, and I would like it to still exist, only to have it password-protected.

Thanks!

You'll need to use Disk Utility...open it then, click on File > New > Disk Image From Folder...Select the folder you want to encrypt, and click Image...Choose 'read/write' if you want your folder to be edit-able (if not, just choose another format), and choose '128-bit AES encryption'.
