Hey Ya'll,

I received the 8gb 2nd Gen iPod touch for as a gift. I have used it a little bit, but I think I should exchange it for the new one that will come out on the 9th of September.

It is opened, but I have the receipt, also on the 9th it will still be within the 14 day return policy.

Has anyone ever upgraded to the newer model? How do I do this without getting screwed?

Any advice?

Thanks!!

Just take it back like you would any product. After you get your money back go and buy the third gen. XD
There's a chance you may have to pay a 10% restocking fee.

Cool, so even if it was a gift, they will probably just put it on a gift card or something right?

still within 30 days means you are good to go. just go in and exchange. Just make sure that nothing bad happens to it before you return it lol, but that shouldn't be a problem.

isn't their is a 30 day money back?

go to the store get your money

save it!

then buy the ipod touch 3G

most likely it will cost the same at $230 or $199.;)

you cant exchange it :p if you bought it from apple it will be a 10% restocking fee if u bought it from somone else like future shop they will give u a full refund :D

Meanwhile, the person who spent the cash and gave the gift in the first place feels like a tit. nice move.

Even if there is a 10% restocking fee, it is for sure worth it. It would be less than $30 to get the 3rd gen and you would have a good bit of new features (maybe even a camera :D)
