How to exclude 'Open With' apps from showing up that are on separate hard drive?

"How to exclude 'Open With' apps from showing up that are on separate hard drive?"

I have a second connected hard drive where I have some older OS backups. Unfortunately, Mac OS sees this and includes all the apps in the 'Open With' menu where I get this:

Is there any way to 'ignore' or exclude hard drives or sections of folders from showing up there?

1. Exclude the folder(s) containing the apps from Spotlight searches

Disabling Spotlight on that volume should do the trick, @bogdanw has it right.
