WhatsApp has a feature to easily export the text history and any attachments fora particular contact to a zip file archive to preserve the conversation. However, I can't figure out how to do it in iOS Messages.

Am I missing something, or does Apple not support this after 11 updates to iOS?

If not, what recommendations does anyone have to export chats?

I have an urgent need to preserve a chat history for a lawsuit. Given how much business is performed via text, one would think this would be a basic function of any messaging app, especially one in its 11th generation.

I don't believe this kind of thing was available prior to iOS 11 either.
