I'm trying to call my macbook from my iPhone4 but I cannot figure out how to do it. Every time I try to call myself it says its busy. I tried adding another email address (validated) and it still does not work.

Where would the option to facetime someone be in the contacts list from the iphone?

is there a way to do phone to windows OR windows to phone yet?

Not yet. FaceTime is still only beta for the Mac. But I'm really hoping it comes out for the PC too. If not, then Apple is seriously limiting itself for that on the desktop market.

good to know thanks for the quick reply and I completely agree! So the facetime option to call macs..does it have a work on 4.0.1? I haven't upgraded yet due to jailbreak waiting to see if anything makes it "worth it"

i'm waiting for a windows one, it was rumoured a while back that there was going to be a mac and windows version, since they got the mac one right, hoping windows is in the works!!

You need both 4.1 on your iPhone and FaceTime enabled. I tried, and I couldn't call myself from my touch to my Mac. I think it prevents you from calling yourself. You could try calling to someone else's account in the household.

touch to mac wouldn't work using the same login. you'd hav to have different login on mac. iphone to mac should work as iphone goes by phone number.

+1
You can't call the same apple ID. But you can easily call from mac to iphone and from iphone to mac.
I haven't tried this, but maybe if on your phone, you logged out of your apple id in the itunes store. Then try that way.

I know I've been able to call my mac from my phone and to my phone from my mac.
Mac to iPhone = Dial iphone number
iPhone to Mac = Call Apple ID number/name
