I must be missing something simple. The Apple site touts a widescreen view in FaceTime but when I launch it the screen remains vertical and will only expand vertically.

Do I have to download the App store app? It registers as available even though I opened the FaceTime Lion app and connected with my iPhone just fine. Is it separate somehow, an expansion of the base app?

Thanks. I have everything set to autohide and kept forgetting to check that stuff lol

(<--- new to OS X)

But the video options are grayed out.

thanks. I called myself and it rotated.

But I think that app is meant for enabling HD and true widescreen (vs portrait or landscape)

Say “hi” in high definition.
Your FaceTime calls are getting the HD treatment. Now FaceTime for Mac supports video calls up to 720p. All you need is a Mac with a built-in FaceTime HD camera — like the new MacBook Pro or the new iMac — and your calls display with next-best-thing-to-real-life clarity. The FaceTime HD camera also supports a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, so Mom, Dad, Grandma, your best friend, and even the dog can gather around for a video call.
