How to find albumless photos?

I searched, couldn't find anything to answer this question.

I usually put photos on albums but it's always a bit frustrating to not being able to know which photos are already organized which ones aren't. Is there a way to do it?

Can do it with Shortcuts, as appears will get a blank Album value if not in user defined album.

In addition to smart album creation not being supported (yet at least) on iOS and ipadOS, I also learned today that smart albums created on Mac do not appear on iOS or iPadOS. Time to hit the apple.com/feedback.

I wrote a Shortcut that shows for any given photo what albums it’s in. For me I just wanted to verify a photo here and there.
