I have a mba 2011 with bootcamp and win 7. Office 2010 installed in win 7.
I had been avoiding powerpoint in that environment because it kept blowing up on me. Powerpoint 2011 in mac os x was working so I skipped taking a look at it just kept thinking it was really strange.
I also typically am using an external monitor/keyboard/mouse.
Anyway I did some digging yesterday and chased down the application error I was getting ( event viewer in windows ).
It was showing Faulting application name POWERPNT.EXE ... Faulting module name KERNELBASE.DLL ... Exception code 0xc0000005
It took me a little while to chase down but it looks like this is a fairly common problem on macs running office ( and maybe when you also have external keyboard ? / not sure ? ). It turns out you need to change windows so that it knows about a US keyboard as well as a Apple keyboard?
Anyway after making the following change the problem went away ( url is powerpoint or excel crashing without reason )
