how to force 3.1.2 restore

hey this may be a newbie question but, is there a way I can for a fresh restore of my iphone without updating to 3.1.3? I have the 3.1.2 update file but because itunes is connecting to check for updates it keeps saying that I have to update...

how can I do a fresh install of 3.1.2?

If you have a 3GS, you can only restore to 3.1.2 official if you have saved your 3.1.2 SHSH either on Saurik's server through Cydia or locally using Umbrella. If you have done neither of these things, you cannot restore your phone to 3.1.2 official. If your phone has the old bootrom you may, however, be able to jailbreak your phone at 3.1.2 and then restore to a custom 3.1.2 firmware made with PwnageTool.

oh my goodness LOL ok so I have a NEW bootrom (tethered JB) FW:3.1.2 BR:5.11

so I do have my official 3.1.2 (as far as I Remember...) how do I go about doing this then?

If you have your 3.1.2 SHSH on file in Cydia (as in the following image), then you can shift-restore to 3.1.2. Otherwise, you cannot.

just reread the post

just don't update it want's you to update too 3.1.3 there is no reason to do this update! also get your self on file with Cydia if your not!
 
Have 3.1 on 3GS Jailbroken Boot Rom 5.11.07

I have had this phone jailbroken for 2 months, all of a sudden the battery drains really fast (within 3 hours)

I have been told restoring is my only option to fix this issue but I dont want to go to 3.1.3

In Cydia it states This Device has SHSH for 3.1.3

How do I get out of this mess???????

Tethered or untethered JB?
