Hi. I need some help on this.

I have AirPort Extreme with 2.4 & 5 G wifi setup. Both have different names.
2.4 I've added only because many of the smart devices are 2.4G network only. Only these devices are connected on it.

I need help to extend the 5Gz network using airport express. When-ever I am trying to configure the express in extend mode, it is only able to find the 2.4G network and not the 5 Ghz network. Even if I type the

The AE is getting a little long in the tooth these days.
It might be time to consider something of a newer design.

I'd suggest investigating the "3 band" mesh systems (the "third radio band" is for handling "backhaul" so as not to interfere with the other two bands).

Two that come to mind are the Velop (works well for me) and the Netgear Orbi.
But there are others as well.

I use the larger UDM-Pro and U6 Lite access points, but I can see the India store is rather limited in their offerings.

The cheaper non Wifi 6 Lite access points are quite capable/stable. The nice thing with the UDM is the built in controller is giving the option to manage your Wifi settings.

Yes, the meshed wifi options are picking up and in next few months, we will start getting many options.

With covid, many homes in India are now dependent on wifi from different rooms and hence, the need to extend wifi is becoming necessity. and necessity will bring more options. 🤞
