I have a specific applicaition that I'd like to try with an old iphone.

I'd like to keep the Downcast app always running so that it updates podcasts (regularly, on a schedule) all the time. I'd leave this iphone in my car connected to my head unit and control it with a USB connection. Is it possible to override the 10 minutes limit from apple? Can it be done on a iPhone 3g or 3Gs?

Here's my thinking:

iOS 4.1
Backgrounder?
Downcast always running and set for update every X hours

As far as I know, backgrounder doesn't work on iOS6 right?
