Hello

I want to create a backup with Carbon Copy Cloner v6.1.7 from a MBP 2014 to restore in a MBP M2
At this moment I only have a brand new, but old Adata HV100 - External HDD 2.5" Model: HV100, USB 3.0

I do not want to lost my information so which Format and Scheme should I use to format my media and start with the backup process?

Thanks
Camelia

Format the drive HFS+ journaled.

If this is to transfer your user data and apps to the MBP M2, I would format the drive HFS+ journaled and perform a Time Machine backup of the MBP 2014, then connect the drive to the MBP M2 and use Migration Assistant to transfer your user data. Once data transfer complete, you will want (and most likely need) to update apps to latest versions compatible with Apple Silicon (M1/M2).

You can then use CC for backups of the M2 moving forward.
