I am selling my Mac so I need to format it somehow, but I don't have a disc for OS X. What do I do? I just want to clean all my information, pics, videos, files, before I sell it. Thanks.
If you did not promise the seller a copy of OS X, it is possible to wipe clean the drive. Google for DBAN for PowerPC. It is a piece of software that securely erases your hard disk.
can't you just create a new admin account and use that to remove your old account in the users preference pane? You'll get a dialog asking if you want to archive the old account. Just say no.
