I recently bought the T-Mobile iPhone on April 12. I know I have 30 days to get the AppleCare +. Can I buy this online? Or do I have to go to a local Apple retail store and show them my phone? Do need to bring my receipt? Because I think I threw it out.

Thanks in advance.

You can call Applecare direct- they can do that over the phone with a proof of purchase. It can be easier however to simply go to your local Apple Store.

According to apples website you have to have your iphone inspected before you can buy applecare+ if not purchased when the phone was purchased.

Some have gotten it via phone call, if they are 50 miles if not further from the nearest Apple Store

800-275-2273 (AppleCare +) call them to find out

Applecare covers water damage too? I checked the website and was a little unclear.

It covers everything as long as the phone is complete.

If it's missing parts, they won't cover it.

It could get run over by a truck. As long as it's all there, they'll replace it when you pay the deductible.

Oh ok great! I know apple care extends the warranty, but since I plan on getting the 6, not the 5s would by one year cover water damage too or is that a bonus to applecare? Like I dont want to pay the extra if Ill be buying a new iphone in 2014.

Also, is the resale value greater with Apple care included?

applecare+ covers accidental damage, you can transfer applecare+ to a future phone.

I am pretty sure this means that the plan can be transferred to someone else when you sell the covered phone. Not that you can transfer the plan to another device. It clearly states that you have to provide the "serial number of the Covered iPhone being transferred"

So the regular one year warranty won't cover an accidental fall, just applecare? I just want to be clear, because I intend on buying/trying out the tmobile iphone. If I like it, I will keep it.

Btw I was told you couldn't transfer apple care to a new phone.

You can't transfer to a new phone only to a new owner. You can also cancel and receive a prorated refund. And then of course just purchase a new plan for a new phone.

it's in the contract bro

(ii) With Transfer From Original Covered Equipment to New Covered Equipment. You may make a one time, permanent transfer of the coverage under the Plan to a new Apple product that is owned and purchased by you within thirty (30) days of the Covered Equipment purchase. The new product must be eligible for coverage under the Plan and at the time of transfer both products must be covered under the manufacturer’s one (1) year limited warranty. Apple will issue a Plan Confirmation for the new product, which will then become the Covered Equipment. When notifying Apple of the yransfer, you must provide the Plan Agreement Number, the serial numbers and Proof of Purchase of the products being transferred by sending or faxing, where available, notice of transfer to Apple as set forth in the section immediately above.

My understanding of that is the transfer applies to the new item if bought within thirty days of the original item, no? Like if I bought a phone six months down the road I don't think I could transfer. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong, because if I can transfer to a newer phone, then that would be a bonus, but sounds too good to be true.

Lol, I have been seeing that around for a minute, and was like, what the hell is that, is that a type? I figured it out. Lol

Just got Apple Care+ today....

$99 plus tax. Went out to the Tmobile kiosk immediately and canceled my handset protection. Folks at the Apple Store were pretty awesome today. Overall, good experience. Was actually told that I could swap out my phone because I can't send picture texts, but I'm waiting off on that a few months to see how things go with tmobile's coverage. I can't imagine just swapping it so easily. I love this phone. I want to keep it as long as possible.
