how to get asurion coverage for non carrier byod phone?

I purchased my phone through verizon full price no contract and since then my account is now on a business plan and i wish to obtain asurion coverage but the business account manger said they don't offer any warranty so how can I obtain asurion for my own device. Asurion is the only provider that offers warranty coverage for lost/stolen phones.

You can't, really. Maybe squaretrade has lost coverage, but I haven't checked.

Frankly, don't bother. It's a ripoff. For the cost of the monthly premium over only a few months plus their high deductible you could buy a mint condition gently used iPhone 5 instead should the need arise.
