How to get calendar entries on iPhone to copy to computer

When I sync my iPhone to my PC, whatever is on my PC overrides whatever is on my iPhone. I want it to do just the opposite. How do I copy the entries I create on my iPhone to my computer?
I think it used to work the way I want it to, but somehow I've managed to change it.
