iPod touch How to get good internet connection in my room, which is far from router?

hey everybody, im getting a new ipod touch 4 32gb soon, and i want everything to be perfect for when i get it ( i am a perfectionist) and i was wondering, my router is downstairs, and my room is upstairs, so what would be the best way to get internet connection on the iPod touch.
im not gonna jailbreak, and i have 2 computers, one mac and one pc.
i also have an ethernet cable i could use.
i know the internet signal doesnt come all the way to my room because friends who have come to my house dont get signal in my room on their itouches.
possibly, tether wifi on pc to mac via ethernet and then have my mac create a wireless network for my ipod?
any more ideas?

Get a smaller house, Get a router, move the router.

I can go about 125feet (estimating) and still get signal. My room is always 1 bar or wifi though.

Wireless N (802.11n) would provide wider coverage. I think moving the router would be best, as you have an Ethernet cable too.
