How to get Mic working?

Hello, I have Windows installed on my own MacBook Pro to play games.

One thing I notice is that I can't use the mic. The volume level is too low. No one can hear me.

Someone in the forum said that I can just go advanced and enable microphone boost, but the advanced button is grayed out.

Can anyone help me, please? THANKS!
