How to get model and brand of time capsule hdd (current tall gen) without opening case/void warranty?

Thanks

The only idea that comes to mind is to wait for iFixit to do a tear down, if they do.

And that would tell you the make/model of the one that iFixIt tears down - no reason Apple would have to stick to one particular make/model disk across the entire line, they could use whatever disks are available at the best price from day to day.

OP, I know of no way to be sure of the make/model without disassembly.

It was just an idea.

I don't believe you can do it without opening the case. I took my 2tb out and added a 4tb. The 2tb was a seagate 2tb. I can check the model number tonight if you want. Mine is identical to the one ifixit pulled out. So that is two for sure that are seagate.

But they may not help you if you want to be certain of your drive.
